PADI’s Global Community Rallies Together to Support Dive Industry Impacted by Maui Fires
September 13, 2023In response to the devastating wildfires in Maui, Hawaii last month, PADIĀ® is committed to helping members of the scuba diving community whose livelihoods have been affected. PADI has partnered with the Ako’ako’a Foundation to create a relief fund that provides direct assistance to dive professionals in Maui. You can contribute to the relief fund by visiting this link.
So far, over $128K USD has been raised through online donations on GoFundMe and direct contributions. 100% of all donations go directly to dive professionals in Hawaii who need help recovering from the wildfires.
PADI CEO and President, Drew Richardson, expressed gratitude for the support from the diving community. He emphasized how important it is to stand together and help each other during times of need. Richardson encourages everyone to contribute to the relief fund if they can.
Donations for this fund will continue to be collected until September 22, 2023. After that, the funds will be distributed to qualified applicants based on their needs. PADI also offers personal assistance to dive professionals who require further support.
To support the relief efforts for the diving community, join PADI and the Ako’ako’a Foundation by September 22, 2023. Remember, 100% of all donations to this relief fund will directly benefit dive professionals in Hawaii who have been affected by the wildfires.
