August 1, 2023 Off By Destination Deep

Capernwray, a popular inland dive site near Lancaster, will be hosting BSAC’s 70th anniversary dive festival in September. This event provides an excellent opportunity for diving enthusiasts to explore underwater attractions, meet fellow divers, and engage in various activities. There are two events scheduled for Friday, 29th September, one during the day and another in the evening. These events are sponsored by Otter Watersports, Apeks, the North West Police Underwater Search and Marine Unit, and Northern Diver.

During the daytime event, which runs from 10am to 5.30pm, participants can enjoy the underwater treasure hunt, trydives with rebreathers and scooters, attend a photography workshop, and have the chance to meet members from other BSAC clubs. There may also be a world record attempt, although this is yet to be confirmed. The cost for the daytime event is £16 per person.

In the evening, starting at 6.30pm, there will be a special event with a buffet. Please note that only 100 tickets are available for this evening gathering, so make sure to register quickly to secure your spot. To register your interest, you can email [email protected] or call 07940 896807.
