First Nemo’s Garden installed in the USA

Gilboa Quarry in Ohio, in collaboration with the Ocean Reef Group, has established the first Nemo’s Garden underwater farming biosphere in the United States.

Nemo’s Garden is an innovative concept developed by the Ocean Reef Group that utilizes advanced technology and design to grow crops underwater. By harnessing the natural properties of the ocean, this groundbreaking initiative aims to address food security challenges, reduce the ecological impact of traditional agriculture, and explore sustainable farming methods.

The Gilboa Quarry biosphere will be livestreamed on YouTube and Facebook, as well as on the Gilboa Quarry website. This will allow marine enthusiasts from around the world to witness the growth of underwater crops in Ohio, USA. The installation at Gilboa Quarry will be closely monitored using Ocean Reef Group’s Internet of Things (IoT) technology for data collection and analysis. The insights gained will help assess the feasibility and potential scalability of underwater farming projects in the United States.

Visitors to Gilboa Quarry will also have the opportunity to participate in hands-on experiences caring for aquatic plants during tours of Nemo’s Garden.
