Andrea Zuccari, a record-breaking freediver from Italy and Switzerland, has gone missing while scuba diving off the coast of Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, and is presumed to be dead.

Reports state that the 48-year-old expert in freediving, who managed the Freediving World center in the Egyptian resort, was scuba diving with a backplate-and-wing setup and a scooter for maintenance work on connection cables on a dive platform at a depth of 45m-50m. However, he did not return from the dive.

A search operation was immediately launched, and some of Zuccari’s diving equipment was discovered the day after his disappearance. However, his body has not been found.
