DPG Masters Underwater Imaging Competition is back for 2023
October 7, 2023Dive Photo Guide (DPG) is hosting their renowned underwater photo contest, showcasing the beauty of the ocean through underwater photography and video. The competition invites underwater photographers of all skill levels to participate in what is considered the “World Championship” of international underwater imagery events.
The total prize value exceeds $75,000 and includes dive trips to top resorts and liveaboards, as well as the latest underwater photography and video gear. Participants compete in eight categories, including Traditional, Macro, Wide Angle, Over-Under, Conservation, Black & White, Blackwater, and Short Film. The winner of each category will receive a cash prize of $1000, with the top image among the category winners receiving an additional cash prize.
Organizers Joe Tepper and Ian Bongso-Seldrup expressed their excitement for the competition, acknowledging the difficulty of selecting winners among the flood of incredible images they expect to receive. They are eager to see the breathtaking images and videos captured by participants.
Being among the finalists not only offers coveted prizes but also grants status and recognition as the world’s best underwater photographers, as judged by a panel of experts. Winning images and videos will be featured in dive, travel, and photography magazines and websites worldwide, exposing the winners’ work to millions.
Furthermore, the competition supports marine conservation efforts, with 15 percent of entry proceeds being donated to these initiatives.
