October 7, 2023 Off By Destination Deep

Fort Young Hotel & Dive Resort, the iconic waterfront resort in Dominica’s capital, Roseau, has launched its new dive operation as part of its USD$18 million renovation. The resort’s dive operations will now be managed by William “Billy” Lawrence, an experienced local dive operator. The new dive program includes two boats with a capacity of 56 divers or 75 non-divers. Guests will have the opportunity to explore the house reefs and marine life around the pier, including coral, octopus, frogfish, and seahorses. The resort also offers underwater points of interest such as shipwrecks and submerged rum barrels. Guests can rent equipment and take diving lessons at the PADI certified dive shop.

Dominica is known as one of the top 10 diving destinations in the world, with its rugged pinnacles, coral gardens, and diverse marine life. Fort Young Hotel’s new boats will also allow the resort to accommodate larger groups and organize whale watching excursions. The resort aims to provide visitors with a unique marine experience while practicing responsible diving and minimizing negative impacts on the marine ecosystem.

In addition to the dive operation, Fort Young Hotel is introducing 60 new guestrooms, including Fort Mountain View rooms and Fort Ocean View rooms. These rooms offer stunning views of Dominica’s capital and the surrounding mountains or the sea. The resort is also unveiling new amenities such as dining options, a gym, a rum & wine cellar, and an art gallery.

Fort Young Hotel follows an “All-Inclusive, Island-Included” model, allowing guests to access the island’s amenities and immerse themselves in the local community. The resort recently earned Green Globe Certification for its commitment to sustainability and community initiatives.

To celebrate the new dive operation, Fort Young Hotel is offering a Diver’s Paradise Offer, which includes a 7-night stay for the price of 6, daily breakfast, airport transfers, diving tours, and unlimited shore diving. Prices start at US$1428 per person based on double occupancy in a Fort Mountain View room.
