Deepblu app servers going offline
December 16, 2023After ten years since its launch, the Deepblu app, which was hailed as the platform for the ‘next generation of divers’, is now set to close its servers due to a lack of paid users.
Although there are numerous dive apps available, Deepblu was initially introduced as a community specifically created for divers to share their dive logs and their love for the ocean. Additionally, the company even introduced a dive computer called the Cosmiq+ to further promote the app.
Visitors to the Deepblu website homepage will now see a message expressing gratitude for their trust and support over the past decade. The message also explains that with each passing year, the growing number of users has put a significant strain on their servers.
Unfortunately, the company has reached the point where too few users are willing to pay for the subscription, making it financially unviable to continue operating the servers at current costs.
After careful consideration, the company has decided to take the servers offline. However, this will not impact the independent use of linked devices, including popular brands such as Suunto or Cosmiq.
Deepblu strongly advises users to promptly back up any videos, pictures, and other data they have stored on the app.
